last few days

Yesterday I didn't have anything special to write because we didn't do anything before the evening. just lazy Wednesday. The plan for the evening was to go somewhere to see El Clásico. We went to a café/pub near Mestalla and thank god we went there over an hour before the game was gonna start because the place got filled with people very quickly. We took drinks and some food there before the game started. and yes - it was nice to be watching el Clásico in a Spanish place, among the Spanish people and enjoying the Spanish atmosphere.

Today I woke up after 11am and at 1pm I saw the guy who wants to improve his English skills (remember when I talked about tandem?) at the University campus and we went for a walk to the beach. He showed me the beach area and the port and stuff and we walked a lot.
Later we went to do some shopping with Ksenia (after changing my shoes: they were filled with sand from the beach and as they are new shoes - it didn't feel nice..) to a shopping center. I bought shoes, some make up stuff, a college jacket (huppari?), some jewellery and i also got my spanish mobile number opened. Yay.

PS. It's been cloudy in here and apparently the weekend is gonna be like this too :( it's also immediately colder when the sun is not shining. blah.

one warm day in Valencia

can you spot Tarzan there?
!Hola a todos!

This day went quite quickly and well. I left the house about 12.30 and my first goal was to find the university, all by myself. Apparently I'm not so bad in navigating after all - I just walked straight to the university, i didn't even have to stop to think about the direction. So i didn't face any problems until i got to the university. i was supposed to go to the international relations office and i knew where it was, but i didn't find an elevator or the stairs.. fail. Finally i found the stairs and got upstairs where the office is located. there were other students waiting outside the office and i thought i was supposed to wait too because they were there before me. well luckily a woman came there and asked if everyone of us was waiting to meet *name (i don't remember which it was)* and i wasn't, so she asked me to come in another office. there i just filled in a paper and got the information about next Monday's welcome meeting and some tourist information brochures. i also tried to change the order of my names there but they asked me to come back in a month, because the change would have messed up all the registration systems or something..

after visiting office i just spent over an hour sitting at the campus and tanning. okay i don't know if i can call it tanning but it was so warm that i was almost sleeping at the bench and I'm sure i got a little bit of tanning, at least i want to believe so! Then some guy came there to ask if i study there and where i was from. we spent a while talking about stuff and he said that he would like to improve his English skills as his native language was Spanish. here it's quite usual to meet some people as "doing tandem": you can teach and help someone to speak some language and the other one can help you with some other language. for me it's better than fine, because he can show me the city and i also get used to speak English (now it's quite weird; even though i can speak it, I'm not used to speak it) when i speak with him a lot and maybe he can also teach me some Spanish. good deal :-)

Later we went to a shopping center with Ksenia, two Russian girls and a Russian guy. we went to McDonald's (they serve beer in McDonald's here?!), and to Carrefour and a few other stores to do some shopping. I bought for example shampoos, Pepsi max <3 (you can't get it just anywhere here), towels, notebook, etc. And another red pants from Zara! It wasn't until after 8.30pm when we came back to the house. Then we cleaned up a bit very quickly as one guy came to check the apartment (there will be a free room as Ksenia moves away).

Okay I guess that was enough for today. Almost all the time on the move so now it's quite nice to just lie on the couch.

PS. Today I've heard more Russian language than ever before in my life :-D

a few trips booked!

Today we got a few important things done, yay for us!
First I needed to register my arrival at the International relations head office. It took a while to go there but it was important to let them know I've arrived in here. First there was a little problem.. The woman at the office didn't find my name from the database and she asked me if I really have sent my information to them, and well, of course I had, as I had also picked all the courses etc. Then she went through the database again and said that 'oh yes, I found you, but there's just a little problem. Your names are in a wrong order: first name as a last name and the same way around...' well... she couldn't change it to the registration system so i have to do it later ("if you want.." well no, i want to be called by my last name?!). But I got the certificate of the registration and that was the main thing. The next step is to go to the university's international relations office and I've planned to go there tomorrow. alone... haha I'm so gonna get lost without Ksenia but hey, then I'll learn :-D

After the office visit we went to a beautiful park. it was big and full of everything, and we spent about 3 hours there (okay including sitting at a terrace). Then we went on to find a Happy Erasmus office. I got my card and we booked a trip to the Bioparc (like a zoo) for Saturday and I also paid my reservation payment for the Andalucia trip in February, yay! After Happy Erasmus office we went to Erasmus Life Valencia office to get me another card and to pay the reservation payments for the Ibiza trip in April :-D whooaaa Ibizaaaaaaaa. nice! So as i said, we got a few important things done. Now we don't have to worry about the limited places for these trips as we have already paid the reservations.

Aaaand then, some pictures. again.

PS. Two things:
- I changed the font size a little bit bigger as I've heard that some people think it's too small and hard to read
- you ARE ALLOWED to leave comments even if it was just "hey" or something. would be nice :-) I know that you, my friends, read this as I've linked the address to you and I've told you that you should read this if you want to know what's going on with me - I have no time to explain to everyone personally what I've done and how I've been here. So, if you want to cheer me up - please leave comments or greetings or whatever.

mi segundo día en Valencia

Campus de Tarongers (Universidad de Valencia) - check ( = the place where I'm supposed to go next Monday) and it looked gooooood! The day was warm and the sun was shining. On our way back to the house we stopped in a terrace place to drink something and to eat some tapas. Niiiice!

It's time for pictures...

first day in Valencia

My first whole day in Valencia is now over and the feeling is quite good. We took a metro to 'the city' and Ksenia showed me some places and stores etc. There were a lot of things to see. Naturally we also went around shopping a bit.. But today, I let the pictures talk because I'm not in a writing mood right now :-D Here we go..

Valencia

Here I am in Valencia! I will post later more about this place, now I'm just confused and I can't realize I'm not going to home for a while now. At first I'm staying here at Ksenia's place and in a week we are supposed to get our apartment very near to the University.

Btw, I really don't know why the pictures in earlier posts are not available?! at least I can't see them and I really don't want to load all of them again because blogger doesn't load them very fluently... >:(

Just a few pictures from yesterday:

Barcelona airport, that floor is confusing, I'm always near to falling when I look down while walking :-D

I almost went to buy David Villa -shirt but I will do that when I go back to BCN in March >:)

that one I was waiting for. wasn't a long time to wait but it felt like eternity as i was sooo tired and having mixed feelings.
